Smith & Wesson 5946 – 9x19mm
A double-action-only (DAO) variant of the 5906, this can be visually distinguished from other models by the complete lack of decocker levers. Note that the hole is still there, and is just plugged, so it is hard to tell on a right side shot. The slide is also slightly longer at the back, almost concealing the rounded-off hammer, and the frame matches this contour. Issued at one time to numerous law enforcement agencies, notably the NYPD (not exclusively) and the RCMP.

Smith & Wesson 5903TSW “Tactical” – 9x19mm
The Smith & Wesson 5903 is a variation of the 5906. Production of the S&W 5903
began in 1990 and has an aluminum alloy frame as opposed to the stainless steel
frame found in the 5906. It is usually easy to differentiate the 5903 from the
5906 by noticing the color contrast between the slide and frame.

Early Model Smith & Wesson 5904 – 9x19mm. This has the finger step contoured trigger guard that would later be replaced by the round trigger guard.
Late Model Smith & Wesson 5904 – 9x19mm. The early model 5904 pistols had the finger step trigger guard, but S&W changed it to the rounded trigger guard for ‘ease of production’.
